Racha Island

May 17, 2016

I captured these images 6 weeks ago when I was on holiday in Phuket. I still haven’t quite recovered from being in holiday mode, I really miss soaking in the warm water and resting my eyes on the endless emerald sea.

I particularly enjoyed visiting this place called Racha Island (my poor husband wasn’t feeling well so unfortunately I had to abandon him and go for snorkeling by myself – felt like such a bad wife) apparently a popular spot for snorkeling but quiet enough and it was just wonderful to escape from the city life for some time. The island is only 30min speedboat ride from Chalong Pier and to be honest I can’t really say it was the most enjoyable boat ride since I got sea sick. But in the end it was totally worth it, the island is not as crowded as Ko phi phi or other touristy parts of Phuket (which is exactly what I hoped for), it is quiet enough to just relax and chill out.

Wearable canvases

March 28, 2016

I want to share with you my newly found fashion brand called ‘Mirador’. It is an Australian brand which sits amongst the small, independent businesses of Australian fashion and contributes to a nicer way of living, providing customers with only long lasting, high quality garments, locally made and genuinely hand crafted.

Textile designer Lauren Elise Cassar has created a collection of sarongs that act as ‘wearable canvases’ each promoting her own style. The first S/S ’15-16 collection An Inkling is a series of eight cotton sarongs, featuring colourful large-scale prints, each hand-crafted in Australia using a high thread-count cotton voile which is delicate and soft.

I fell in love with it’s unique and one-of-a-kind prints and soft shades of pink and beige. They really bring a fond memory of warmer months and something that I’d love to wear for beach vacations. Also they provide international shipping too!

Mansur Gavriel is one of my favorite instragrammers, honestly I’m even tired of ‘liking’ their images on instagram everyday. All their images look stunning, they just keep getting better and better each time. I especially love their recent 2016 A/W presentation during NY fashion week, shot by a famous street fashion photographer Tommy Ton.

All the ceramics features in the presentation were created by a Japanese ceramist Kan Ito .
